It is with deep sadness that I pass along the news that Jill McAllister passed away on February 17.
After leaving Cray, Jill McCallister returned to school to study for a masters' degree in music history. She and her husband, Stuart Levy, moved to Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, several years ago.
Jill was diagnosed with a brain tumor in December, and had been undergoing radiation and chemotherapy treatment. She was looking forward to returning to classes this semester and to maintaining an active life for the time she had left, but it was not to be.
According to the obituary from the Champaign-Urbana News-Gazette, memorial services will be at a later date. Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Road, Urbana, is in charge of arrangements.
